When did they start allowing mob postings against a lone woman and refusing freedom of opinion and speech?

Thank you for your support.
At least there are a few gentlemen still around.
Looks like the right time for city councilors to pay for ANOTHER STUDY.
Spending this kind of money in the midst of a horrible recession.
Columbus spending $2.6 million to study flooding
By Ben Wright
Despite objections from one Columbus councilor, the city will move forward with plans to spend $2.6 million to study flooding in neighborhoods.
In addition to the flooding study, checks totaling almost $320,000 will be mailed this week to property owners who sign waivers not to sue the city for flood damage that occurred between Jan. 1 and April 20. The money is part of a one-time flood grant approved May 12 that could pay up to $12,500, including $10,000 for inside structural damage and $2,500 for personal property.
Deputy City Manager David Arrington said requests for proposals will go out for engineering firms to study Robert E. Lee and Artillery drives, Levy Road and Victory Drive, Albion Way, Oakland Park, Breeds Hill Loop, Joy and Cusseta roads. With heavy rainfall and poor street drainage, some areas had more than 5 feet of water inside structures earlier this year. Studies for the areas are estimated at $1.5 million.
Columbus Councilor C.E. “Red” McDaniel said it’s a waste to spend money on flooding when officials already know the areas will flood.
“We know areas are going to flood,” McDaniel said. “I don’t understand why we have to have someone tell us. We already know they are going to flood.”
The city has no control over rainfall or runoff, but has built watersheds to help control flooding.
“We built watersheds. They cost a lot of money,” he said. “If we didn’t have watersheds, we would have problems.”

Back on topic, folks....and stay with it.
The "back" and "forth" has got to stop. Keep City-Data's ToS (Terms of Service) in mind.
The terms are very simple, easy to understand, and very easy to follow.

Quantity is not quality. Just because McD's sells more burgers doesn't make them any better than those at the Vortex.

This was noted by a former poster several months ago.....with total shutdown possibliity after another round of layoffs in August.
They are going to lease their newly built bldg that was supposed to be hiring another 300 folks and and terminate future growth plans.
New economy or old news?
Cessna to lay off 40 Columbus employees
By Andrea V. Hernandez
Cessna Aircraft Co., the nation’s largest builder of corporate jets, said Wednesday about 40 employees will be laid off in Columbus.
The local job eliminations are part of the 1,300 company-wide layoffs announced last Friday. The Columbus operation at Cargo Drive now employs about 475.
Local employees were informed Tuesday about the local cutbacks, but the employees who will lose their jobs have not been identified, said Doug Oliver, spokesman for Cessna.
Notifications will be sent out starting Friday and will include production and non-production employees. There is a possibility of additional layoffs in mid-August. Affected employees will receive a severance package, Oliver said.
Columbus workers make sub-assemblies and other components that go into small aircraft.
Oliver also said Wichita-based Cessna plans to sell or lease its facility at Muscogee Technology Park in east Columbus. The company broke ground at that location in September 2007. The building was meant to handle increased production.
“Of course, now we’re not doing that increased production,” Oliver said. “Therefore, that space is no longer needed.”
This recent round of cuts raises the number of jobs eliminated to half of Cessna’s work force since November as the recession has depressed demand for its planes.
A second wave of layoffs is expected to begin and take place no later than Aug. 14. By the time the cuts are completed, Cessna will have slashed its overall work force by 8,200 since Novemeber. Roughly 8,500 employees will remain on the payroll.
The company employed nearly 16,000 people last year — including about 12,000 in Wichita — before the economic downturn slashed global demand for corporate aircraft.
In April, Cessna announced it was laying off 2,300 workers across the company and closing its Bend, Ore., plant as it tries to restructure its product line amid declining plane orders. Production of the Corvalis high-performance, single-engine planes at the Bend plant will move to the Independence, Kan., facility.

You post this as if you are delighted to report on 40 people losing their jobs? What kind of person are you? Hope your job is safe....
What's good to know is that these people have options, like NCR now

The article came from the local paper.
You better call and ask them if they are delighted as I have no idea.
We have all heard this from you countless times before and unfortunately it means nothing.
Hard times are ahead for the city...ask the more than 16k out of work!!
