Your right about that columbus downtown skyline is small for a city it's size. I heard they are planning on putting a convention hotel downtown someday don't know how many stories it will be though. Im all for it too columbus does need to build it's skyline up. In my opionion a good skyline makes a city look more attractive and enjoyable at night. All columbus needs to do is add a 12 story building to downtown and add a 14 story building to downtown and columbus would have a more better looking skyline.

NCR On Track to Employ 870 in Columbus by 2013

Automated teller machine manufacturer NCR Corp. today marked the official certification of its Columbus plant as being friendly to the environment. NCR said its 340,000-square-foot facility, located in Corporate Ridge Business Park, has been designated a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) plant.

It also is one of the few retrofitted factories in the nation, according to U.S. Green Building Council, which with the Green Building Certification Institute, makes the certification.

Cool news for NCR and Columbus.

Here is the information it said the construction on the new hotel will start in june of this year there taking bids now for the project it's going to be a five story hyatt hotel 104 unit 86,189 square foot hotel. It does not go into much detail and tell you where the location will be because they want you to pay or subscribe to get more information about the project.

I see where it says this but I also see some other projects. One from 04/26 calls for a retail establishment with a pharmacy. At 13,000 sf I'm guessing this is a CVS or Walgreen's.

I also notice where on 04/15 Midland Ga has a mixed use development complete with retail and residential. The only thing that comes to mind is the site where the new Chik Fil A is going. It calls for construction to begin Sept 2011. This is exciting news

danmandr Im glad you checked the link out and saw what I was talking about the new hotel. If you also click on the second link under that one it will bring you to a website called hotelmarketdata I believe and pick the state georgia from the drop box and then type in columbus and press search and it will bring you to a page of hotel construction projects in columbus and i think it's the first one on the page and it tells you that the franchise of the hotel is hyatt corparation.
