I am considering 90 - 77 - 70. Is this a good route? I figure I won't hit any traffic this way (I'll be getting into Columbus at about 5PM on a Wednesday).

Is there any advantage to taking 71? I've always gone that way, so I wouldn't mind the change in scenery anyhow.

71 would probably be faster, but 77 has less traffic on it.

Get on 271 south around Willoughby; that will take you to 77, instead of continuing on 90 into Cleveland and getting on 77 from there. Unless you want to drive into Cleveland.

my advice is for the Cbus area. You said you'll be getting in around 5 on a Wed night; ok. What area are you heading to when you get here? 70 west into town is a good option since most traffic will be going east. 71 south into Cbus, I'm not sure about, I don't travel that side of town much. But depending on where you are going may make a difference of which route because of rush hour traffic.

If you take 77 & 70 it will be a little further than using 71, but coming in at that time of day traffic eastbound on 70 from downtown will be bad, and 270 can get hairy in places. Coming west on 70 shouldn't be too bad traffic wise, unless of course there is an accident or road construction.

I'd say 77 to 70. it may be a little farther mileage wise, but 71 will take you all the way into downtown then you'll have to deal with going home traffic going eastbound on 70. and with the construction on 70 right now, I'd avoid it!

I'm actually going to be a little later... About 8pm when I arrive. Would 71 be bad T all then?

By then, rush hour should be done, but still expect Friday night traffic. Shopping, dinner, movies, etc.

time doesn't matter then. but if you take 71 into Cols, it could take you about 30 minutes to get from downtown to P-town on 70. construction has the freeway down to one lane,(I think) so it's probably a pain in the butt. I'd do 2 routes on mapquest and see what it tells you on the mileage, one going 71 and one going 70.

If you'd like to get off the interstates for a bit & see something different, take Exit 65 off I-77 and run U.S. 36 West and merge onto OH 16 in Coshocton (easy to spot the signs) Take OH 37 EAST just west of Newark down to I-70. Will save you a few miles and it's good road. Something a little different than the interstates...
