Smile Finding rental properties in Grove City

Hello,

Our family is looking to relocate from Indiana to Grove City. I use the internet for everything, and thought it would be easy to find homes for rent online, but I'm not having much luck. I've checked the newspaper listings online, but since I'm unfamiliar with the area, I'm not always sure if a home is in Grove City or Columbus.

I've read with interest several discussions regarding Grove City...it sounds like a decent place to live overall. Schools are not an issue for us as we homeschool, but good libraries, museums, social and cultural offerings are very important to us. What kind of enrichment activities are available in Grove City? Are there clubs or other organizations such as Girl Scouts?

Can anyone recommend a good resource for finding a home to rent? We'd rather not live in an apartment unless we just can't find anything else. We have 2 young children, possibly a teenager moving with us, and a tiny dog. Also, which areas of Grove City should be avoided, if any?

Thanks!!

Grove City is nice. Didn't grow up there but live there now. I'd avoid Urbancrest, it's an area just south of I-270 and west of 62/Broadway and on the north end of Grove City. Other than that anything else would be find. We have a ymca, girl and boy scouts are all over. as for musuems and that stuff, there's plenty in Columbus, which is only 15 minutes away. I like the downtown area with the farmers market, free concerts on the weekends, free movies.
As for rental info, not sure how much help I can provide there. try the local paper, dispatch.com or the little local papers; This Week Newspaper, the Grove City edition or The Messenger, and I think that's the west side edition, not sure. I seem to see more just listed with a sign out front. but I did just the other day write down one for a friend. it's not a house but a townhome, landisproperties.com. also found rentalhouses.com, not sure if it's good info, but a place to start. feel free to message me and I'll keep my eyes open for rental info.

Thanks so much! I actually got in touch with an old (as in way back) childhood friend of mine and discovered she lives in Powell. She said they were looking into Grove City because they want to buy land and it's cheap in that area since the schools are going downhill.

I appreciate the tip on the papers and realty...I'll keep my eye on them and see what happens. If we end up buying, it sounds like we can get a good deal if people are having trouble selling their homes due to the school issue. Is a levy the same as a tax? We don't have levies here so I don't know much about them!

I also appreciate you keeping your eyes open. We're not sure when we're moving yet, it may be a while, it may be before the end of the year, depends on how things go. Thanks again!!
