Hey hey Im just wondering if any one else thinks that Ohio will get a nasty , cold snowy winter ? I mean we had such a miserable hot summer and when we were little we used to hear "the hotter the summer , the colder the winter" just wondering if that is always true ? what say the rest of you Ohioans ?

I have heard that too. As a Pennsylvanian growing up, we would hear the same thing all the time. Who knows with the weather anymore. It could be a mild winter.

That's funny a nasty, cold, snowy winter. What winter in Ohio hasn't been that way, they get worse here each year, not better. I was thankful to have a real summer for once in a long time around here and not the typical cold and rainy one. Hopefully a nice mild winter, will make my last one here before moving to Texas even better.

Not sure that I believe the "the hotter the summer , the colder the winter". Summer of 2009 was pefect weather, not too hot and not too cold. I thought last winter was pretty bad. Lots of snow and it was COLD!

The National Weather Service gave their winter outlook just recently, and they said they think it's going to be a really cold, but not too snowy winter b/c of La Nina or whatever lol. So colder than last winter but not as snowy? Personally I kinda liked the extra snow the past few years lol

I'd be surprised if it was especially cold, since we're setting records for 'warmest year on record' that seem to be set to continue through winter. However, I wouldn't be surprised by extra snow since warmer air holds more moisture (30 degree days vs 20 degree days = more moist air but still ripe for snow).

just my .02 though.

I'd take the hottest day in this past Summer over the best day in winter anytime ...

I guess it is really based on personal preferance. I would rather take the warmth I guess. But I know a lot of people who have hated their experiences down south during the summer with the heat. Saying they could never live down there because of how uncomfortable it is.
