Rowhouse in/near downtown Columbus
I've been looking at realtor.com listings for hrs, and having trouble reconciling some of the listings w/ areas yall have mentioned in the other thread. Please bear me, I really did do a search;-)
We're looking for a row house (no condos) in or near downtown Columbus. Don't need a big yard or any yard for that matter, don't care about school district (no kids).
Only catch is price. Do you guys think this is doable in the $150-200K range? I'm guessing German Village is too expensive? How about North Short, Italian Village or Merion Village?
Please please say yes. Columbus seems like such a nice town. We want to be in an area where we can walk places e.g. coffee house, breweries, book stores.
We're an IR couple, but from what I've read in other threads, people in Columbus are nice, so this shouldn't be a problem, yes?
TIA for your help:-)

You Shouldn't Have Much of a Problem
Merion Village has some row houses in the $175-$185K range. Pretty small, only usually having 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bath. Olde Towne East (between Braden and Broad St on the near east side of Columbus) also has some older row homes which may meet your objective. Finally, you can consider Victorian Village, which has some town homes fitting your price range in the area between High St and Neil Ave, and between W 5th St and King Ave.
Columbus is very much OK with IR couples, you won't have much of a problem (you always have a jerk here and there).

Awesome! This is so helpful, thanks very very much. They don't always have some of the details on realtor.com so it is hard to gauge sometimes.
We'll be visiting Columbus soon, so this will be very helpful info. Victorian Village sounds like the best match so far tho the other choices also look super. I really like the sound of Columbus; how many other towns can one find housing one would want to live in w/in this price range so close to downtown and/or campus.
And yes, that is w/in our price range and size (bigger house = more cleaning work, who needs that!?
Appreciate the help, and best to you!

Always glad to provide any insights, I wish this had existed when we were doing our relocations.

The area east of downtown between Broad and Main is called Olde Towne East.

Be careful when searching for "Row houses" in Columbus. Many agents don't know the difference between the Fee Simple town house and a Condo. Fee Simple you are responsible for all your own maint. and exterior upkeep. Condos you only own from the walls in. Alot of the row houses in Columbus are condos.
There is a 2BR 1 bath Townhouse Fee Simple in Merion village that is really nice listed at $159,900 and another at $189,900 w 2BR and 1.5 baths and off street parking. PM me and I will send you the link.
