Info on Columbus suburbs.
Can anyone give me the names of nice suburbs of Columbus. I don't have to be that close to Columbus, so if the suburbs are 45 - 60 min. commutes it's okay. I am from Youngstown, OH and looking for a better town within the state. Thanks.

Hilliard, Dublin, Delaware, New Albany, Grove City, Worthington. I have found all of them to be very nice, safe, with great school systems and a lot of entertainment.

I recommend Choctaw Lake, London, Ohio 43140
We moved to Choctaw Lake from Columbus two years ago and have never regretted it. It's paradise. Lot's of folks here commute to Columbus, and Dayton every day.
Check us out !

All mentioned are good areas. Also, Columbus has many neighborhoods within the city limits that are suburban in nature, and often feed into the suburban school districts instead of Columbus Public which are mediocre. Columbus has annexed so much land it's often hard to tell where you are. You can drive down one street and cross in and out of Columbus 12 times! Not that it's a bad thing just slightly annoying.

bobbya739, if you do not mind commute, Powell Ohio is probably one of the best around columbus. It was ranked nationally 18th best place to live by Money in 2005. Lots of good golf courses, historic downtown, columbus zoo is right next to it, bike routes, etc. Neighborhood median income is probably the highest around columbus.
Commute time to columbus downtown without traffic is about 25 minutes, probably 40 minutes during rush hour.

I moved to Columbus in 2003. It is generally very easy to get around the Columbus region. I would NOT recommend the Powell area as the roads are way too congested.
If you do not have to live too close to the city and want to be in the more rural areas, I would recommend looking at Licking County or Knox County. Delaware County around Sunbury is also a nice area.
