Smile moving to Columbus from Nevada

We are re-locating from Nevada to Ohio never having been there before. My boyfriend will be working in the area of Reynoldsburg and we would like to know where a good place to live would be. We are in our early 30's...no children....would like to live in a friendly town where the people say hi and aren't too conservative. He doesn't mind communting but no more than 30 minutes. We are looking for a place with good neighbors and a quaint atmosphere. Housing shouldn't be outrageously expensive but can be semi-pricey. We want someplace where we can walk around...enjoy the culture (we love sports and artsy places....love to see movies and explore new restaurants.) We would also like to know how the weather is there and what to expect with tornadoes (how frequent are they?) Hope someone can help!! Thanks!!

Victorian Village/Short North/Grandview are areas you can walk around and experience culture and restaurants. These are close to downtown meaning the columbus blue jackets (hockey) and ohio state (various sporting events). They are a little pricey and older homes but a quaint area for young professionals. It would be a 20-30 minute commute max to reynoldsburg.

My votes would be for Grandview, German Village and Worthington.

Tornado activity is not that common. As for areas to look at would be German Village, Schumacher Place, and Italian Vilalge. If you want Condo living check out Short North and Arena District. All of these will put your husband within a 30 minute drive of Reynodsburg...nice thing is he will going out of town when traffic comes in and vice versa.

The Grandview area is also nice but will add a few minutes to his drive. Housing in central Ohio is one of the most affordable in the country, and we were rated one of the least likely areas to have price depreciation. Slow steady growth and home of the Capitol and OSU provide constant support for Columbus and surrounding areas.
