New Albany Homes for Rent
Hello,
I have a possible job prospect in New Albany (NA), and was wondering where I can find classifieds for home rentals. I've done the regular Google search, but wasn't able to come up with anything in the New Albany area. Any advice on living in New Albany is also appreciated.
From what I've found on the internet, I picture NA as an upscale and clean place to live; it sounds like heaven compared to where we're living now. White fences, numerous walking paths, colonial architecture: I'm getting excited just writing about it! Despite our frugal lifestyle living in an affluent community doesn't bother us in the slightest; in our experience the wealthy care much more about their community.
Thanks in advance!

Are you looking for a short term rental/lease or something more permanent? New Albany does not offer a whole lot houses for rent. I rarely see them. There are some beautiful condos for lease on Market St but they can be pricey. I would contact a local realtor. Often, there are homes that aren't selling and homeowners decide to rent them out till the market turns around.

Most of the places you'll find in New Albany that are affordable are condos. You can try craigslist.org They've got quite a bit listed there.
Also, columbus.backpage.com has classifieds. Columbusdispatch.com might also have something there, but the first two are far better.
You might want to consider Westerville instead. It's more affordable (with large lots) and you'll be far more likely to find homes for rent. Downtown has plenty of nice little shops and restaurants, just stay away from Cleveland Ave unless you want to live in the ghetto.

If you are looking for a house, I would look at this page. There was a nice 2400 sq ft home in New Albany listed a few days ago for something like $1800 I believe. It's no longer listed on the site, but there may be others coming up.
Columbus Best Rentals - Available Properties List I have looked, but never used the site (never filled out an app.).

home for lease or purchase in New Albany,IN
Are you still looking for a home to lease (or lease/purchase) in the New Albany, IN, (southern IN ) area? We have a beautiful 3200 sq ft home with a private wooded backyard, wonderful, safe, friendly neighborhood, just off Charlestown Rd.(newest retail area). 3 minutes from a 5-star school. Let me know if you're interested. There are pictures available on the web.

Another option you might have - there are a bunch of condos right off 161 at the Hamilton Road exit. Westerville address, but New Albany schools and Columbus taxes. Seems like the best of ALL worlds! I know of a 1700 sq ft, 3 bedroom 3 bath condo for rent in the community where I live - I believe they're asking 1300 a month. Nice quiet neighborhood - I actually take walks into New Albay from my condo - grocery shopping, etc - it's only just over a mile away.

I think DonnaTate is talking about "New Albany Village Condominiums." At any given time there are at least 15-20 condos in the complex for sale. These guys seem to have all the listings in the complex. Maybe he knows of a frusterated seller who will rent their condo for awhile.

I have a house I'm going to rent that's right between Hoover Reservoir (with its sailing club, running trails, and wildlife) and New Albany. Westerville schools. It's on a quiet cul-de-sac (no pass through traffic) with a large lot. It's 2300 square feet, 4 bed, 2.5 bath with new paint, carpet, hardwood floors, roof, furnace, air, windows(on order), sump pump, garage door, etc., etc. Should be ready for you Jan 1st. $1250/ month with possiblility to buy it.
