Default Northeastern Columbus Suburbs/Villages

I'm hopefully getting a job in New Albany, OH and am looking for alternatives to New Albany's high cost of living. Any insights on Johnstown, Westerville, Galena, Sunbury, Pickerington, and Pataskala would be appreciated.

We'd be moving from Wyoming and are looking for a civilized, cultured, conservative-minded area with an active Catholic community. Having lived in the Wild West, we'd like to avoid high populations of "country folk/bumpkins/rednecks"-no offense, but our lifestyle is totally different.
We enjoy trees, water, bike paths, and well maintained neighborhoods. An up-to-date library would be a plus.

Thanks in advance.

Very strong catholic church presence in Pickerington and Pataskala. Pataskala has some areas with larger lots and less of a subdivision feel, while Pickerington is a classic subdivision suburb. Both have great values for the money, and you get an active library too.

Worthington just won Best Library in the Country award. It also has some of the features you may be looking for in a neighborhood. The cost of housing is less than New Albany and their are more choices in housing styles etc. You also have a great bike path system (Columbus operated) near 161 and SR315 in Worthington. It also has a highly rated School District.
