Thanks, are you sure $40k is current? I've looked at clubs in Hyde Park (Cincy) and Dublin, both went from $25+ pre-crash, down to $15k and $5k respectively.

are you a member yourself? curious as to what life is like at the club? My concern is it will be an old money club with an older client base, whereas I am 31 looking to meet some friends, reasonably close to my age.

Tartan fields only had 13 members under 34, but median age is 44, which would be good. but pretty sure we'll end up in UA so we'd like something closer.

any other clubs to look at if we move to UA?

I would have to say that Scioto definitely has the "old" money reputation. The Country Club at Muirfield (TCC) is very family friendly and affordable. Kinsale is very family friendly. Tartan Fields is very much made up of families, too. Lots of CC's to consider in this area and many are offering very competitive rates for membership.

Default We are now looking at the Columbus area too. I just sent an email

to the membership director at Tartan Fields but can you tell me the initiation, dues, minimums in the clubs you have recently looked at in the area? We would need to be in Dublin, Upper Arlington or Hilliard for his drive to Springfield though. Thanks

Tartan was around $5k in initiation and $400 per month. The 5k is deferred until they reach full membership, I think they're at 360 of 400 now. Love the community, but wife wants to be closer downtown

A family member of mine is a member at SCC and we are there often. It's SUPER old money and I don't even think they currently take new members - you have to be a family member and 'next in line' to get the spot once your family member dies. Just a heads up.

If you're looking to make new friends I would consider other clubs.

What are some nice but younger country clubs? Preferably near UA? Tartan is too far but thinking maybe Country Club at Muirfield may be a good fit?
