Crew | Soccer

A study on the local economic impact of the soccer team. The article talks about low attendance and falling revenue the last few years, but doesn't mention why. Many fans main complaints stemmed around steadily rising ticket prices that made it much harder to justify going, particularly during the recession and bad economy, but starting this year several changes were made, particular to season ticket packages, and this year are running about 20% ahead of last year in sales.

Hospital projects provide prescription for job growth | The Columbus Dispatch

This is both a development and economic topic. The two large hospital expansion projects: the $840 million project with 3 new buildings for Nationwide Childrens Hospital and the $1.1 billion 20-story complex for OSU, combined are expected to create over 8,400 jobs with an additional 10,000 support jobs.

The Columbus areas' hospitals are almost all in expansion mode right now, and the Riverside Methodist Hospital off of 315 is planning to add a new tower of its own, tentatively priced between $300-$400 million and expected to begin construction either late this year or sometime in 2013.
