Good stuff! Columbo does a good job of keeping us updated, but I hadn't heard anything on the hotel. Still, good to hear the art gallery is done. Will be nice to see the finished hotel and office towers.

Yeah, it will definitely change the look of the southern entrance into the SN. 11 stories will be the 2nd tallest building in the neighborhood aside from Bollinger Tower.

Columbus office consolidation along Front coming together - Columbus - Business First

A few more details emerging on the office building consolidation going on along N. Front Street in Downtown. The old Police HQ building is wrapping up it's $35 million renovation and office workers from nearby buildings are being moved there. The older building at 109 N. Front Street will be torn down later this year in preparation for the construction of a new office building. The height is still unknown, but the project is expected to cost up to $60 million and be 100,000 square feet or more. If that figure is true, the building will be, at the very least, in excess of 10 stories.

In other news, Columbus is going to permanently scar one of only a few decently intact urban business districts which could be a walkable cluster of unique destinations for a Family Dollar instead. In other cities, the city actually funds facade improvements even in neighborhoods worse than the Hilltop rather than just tear them down. I'm glad to live in one of them to see this for myself. Yep, just more of the same in a city that's still only one street and clearly doesn't want that to change. Oh, and South Linden is getting another Family Dollar on E Hudson: just what the area needs to improve.

Mplsite...once again, you've crossed that red line that triggers the response of the Guardian Angel of Columbus. For your own protection, please lay low--for he's already on his way...

I'm sure he is and regardless the continued hemorrhaging of the Hilltop neighborhood (and not surprisingly Linden) proves my point even more. No amount of apologetics could ever show otherwise and it's not like I'm somehow behind sabotaging potential up-and-coming neighborhoods after I left.
