Transportation Insider: Is panel permitted to add new permits? | The Columbus Dispatch

The proposed Columbus-Chicago high-speed rail line is still moving forward, as the city and MORPC are looking into the project more closely and determining what city involvement there will be in the project. They already helped pay for the initial economic assessment, so they have already shown interest. An environmental impact study is the next step needed for the project to land federal funding. There seems to be pretty high support for this, and if all goes forward, the project could be up and running by 2020.
