Well, you enjoy your delays. I'll be riding the new Central Corridor LRT between Mpls and St Paul in less than 100 days (w/ a real time countdown at the site) while you try riding your delayed LRT: at least you can take the streetcar...oh wait, that's delayed too. Oh, I know, you can take the bike boulevard that parallels where the streetcar would have...except that's been delayed too. Hmm, these delays seem to turn into lots of nothing getting done.

Columbusites have had more than enough time to read my long-winded rants to help pass the time while waiting a half hour or so for one of the delayed COTA buses during an unusually cold winter. Let alone wait around for safer downtown roads for cyclists. Oh, but you don't care about the immediate concerns of Columbus locals. So what if they have to keep standing outside in brutal winter conditions? You're in sunny central Mexico! COTA will run smoother with lower wait times someday in the future so people should just warm themselves with that thought and it's not like people who take the bus also have to show up to work on time now. Why such callous indifference to the needs your beloved (betrayed ex-)fellow Columbusites? Unless, they can afford one of those luxury apartments (and their cars) only found in a few higher-income neighborhoods that you like to boast about. So you're really only worried about the ones with lots of money and for those that don't let them eat cake, but go them! They can suffer for the cause: to make your boosterism look good. Got it. And remember, you don't have to ride a bike on a mini-highway stretch of Front or Marconi for another year, but some people will and maybe another two or three with the all the greater dangers it poses for them until made safer.

Still unhinged... I can't imagine this winter was much fun up there in MSP, but it may have broken you.

Caps Planned for High and Third Street Bridges South of Downtown | ColumbusUnderground.com

And great news for connecting Downtown to German Village and the Brewery District... Both High Street and Third will be capped similar to High Street at 670 in the Short North. New bridges will be built to accommodate retail or other private development to bridge the two neighborhoods back together. These caps were only recently added to the plan of the 70/71 rebuild, so it looks like in the end Columbus got a bit more of what it wanted out of the project than what ODOT was originally willing to give.
