Anything close to Upper Arlington that is sort of like living in the country? What type of homes? Average cost?

Although its first neighborhood was originally platted on an old farm in the 1910s, Upper Arlington has long since been engulfed and totally landlocked by Columbus. It is now several miles in all directions from UA, before you ever see any wide-open country
![]() Within Arlington itself, there are properties that resemble country estates and have a pleasant, near-rural feel to them. But these usually come with $2-3MM price tags (or more)! ![]() For an upscale area that's much more rural and close to the country itself, try Powell or New Albany. Or even Dublin. |

If you go about 7-10 miles dead west it is pretty much open country area. Homes range anywhere from the low $200s to the $600s, depending upon how much land and how nice the house.

When you head west you will run into Hilliard area and they do offer some more rural settings. A rural setting in UA is rare, as land is priced at over $400,000 and acre for residential development.

Yes, I also second, Upper Arlington is in the "center" of the columbus metro when it comes down to the truth.
Columbus' only true rural living is going to be WAY further out from the center of the city and the surburbs. I think some do not realize how big the columbus metro is, and how most of the suburbs are not "towns" but medium sized cities in their own right (surrounded by columbus' annexation) |
