I wish it were always that simple Nic...but remember, realtors are out to make a buck just like any other salesperson.
I would only ask a realtor if I knew them
personally, such as through family or in a social (non-business) setting. That way I'd feel more confident they're being straight-up w/me!
But yeah, I
totally "ditto" your point about charming old buildings mostly being in crappy neighborhoods. That's life in the city I guess. Sad...
