Reading all about NY pizza and such...never been there ...For some great Italian dishes, come to St. Louis and visit 'The Hill' in South St. Louis and it is known for their traditional cooking restaurants. For pizza in St. Louis try 'IMOS'. Darn good, but then having not tried NY pizza, may be off here. . And another super place not far from Interstate -44 in Rolla, MO (a college town-University of Missouri-Rolla...engineering) there is 'Alex's'. Now this is darn good pizza! Thank y'all for some interesting reading...

cleveland is the only city in ohio with large volumes of great ethnic foods/delis/bagels etc.... and yes we have dunkin donuts everywhere and pizza is served by the sloppy slice ! (maybe thats why we are a top 10 fat city). in my opinion the best food is in the diverse cities ie- chicago,ny,philly, cleveland, boston etc. and never order pasta in the south !

Hi Northwoods ... and Hi Torn2pieces,
I'm just wandering around sharing goodies and I saw your mention of NY Pizza. As a born-and-raised New Yorker, it is true. You cannot get pizza or bagels anywhere like you can get in New York. The theory is that it's the New York water used to create the dough, but what the truth might be, New York pizza (and bagels) really are second to none.

some people also don't like route 161 because they have strip clubs along that road (Doll House, Danny's Gold Fox/Lollipop's (next to the waffle house off 71/161), and Dockside Dolls (now closed for remodeling). Also whores hang around that area. One time I was in the parking lot of giant eagle and a girl asked me for a ride. She seemed innocent and friendly so I agreed since she lived right down the street and it was cold outside. When she got in my car she started asking me about how much money I had and what I wanted to do on our "date". I apologized for the misunderstanding and dropped her off at her apartment....never gonna give a stranger a ride again lol.
Also the walgreens across the street from the giant eagle on route 161 has been robbed 4 times in the past 3 years. So it is not just racism keeping people away from route 161!
PS: I work along Route 161 at the Walgreens across the giant eagle.
