Trick or Treat (Columbus, Hilliard: house, neighborhoods, live)

Hello all. Being a new Columbus resident I was wondering what are the better sides of town to go trick or treating at or are there things at centers, the zoo, just something fun for my kids to do.

Well, there is Boo at the Zoo. It's great for kids, and they do have candy stations. I believe some of the malls also have trick or treat.

You should take your kids trick-or-treating in your neighborhood. You can find the schedule in the Dispatch. If your neighborhood doesn't have it, perhaps a friend or co-worker's neighborhood does, and you could take a few bags of candy to be passed out at the friend's house while you take your kids around the neighborhood. I am not implying you do this, but I don't think it's very polite to try to target nicer neighborhoods for "better pickings" without having to receiprocate.

While I certainly don't begrudge kids candy, I was pretty disgusted last year by the number of people who came to my neighborhood who clearly did not live there. I always give out good candy, but this year I got bags of cheap, crappy candy for people who can't be bothered to put on a costume and for rude people.

Just a caution that Columbus and the suburbs usually hold trick or treat night on some random night that is NEVER October 31. I never understood that about Columbus and we lived there for 10 years and since have lived in 3 other cities that all have trick or treat on Halloween.

I just did a google search and I see that Hilliard's trick or treat night is Thursday, October 30th this year.

I have heard Boo at the Zoo is great for kids. Columbus's trick or treat night is on Oct. 31st this year. If you want to do something fun other than trick-or-treat, check out the dispatch website to see what events are happening. Some communities on the outskirts of town will often do events that offer hayrides and other treats.

Hi just moved here and was wondering were a good place would be to take my 3 kids trick or treating I live around hillared, grandview, and grove city I just need a good and safe place for them thanks please help me
