Just learned Smash Burger is expected to open their first location in Columbus... well, Gahanna actually in the first half of 2013. Sort of a Five Guys / Burgers Dogs & Fries / In-N-out Burger / Red Robin type of a joint but it has a cult following.

Supposedly the franchise owner responsible for bringing it to Columbus formerly had a chain of Wendy's restaurants and sold them to go all-in with Smash Burger.

Been there done that..just another hamburger joint as far as I am concerned. I do like their smashfries and Haagan Daas milkshakes though and they have a little broader menu than FG.

There are so many good local burger joints in Columbus that Smashburger does not even get on my radar.

So then - what's the verdict? Is it a good place to eat at or not?

Sounds like another hamburger joint to me - but maybe I'm wrong. Let me know guys...thanks!

We have had one here for some time. Way overpriced. $8.00 for the large burger. Want fries and a drink? Add another four bucks. Specialty fries cost even more. Maybe price is a little cheaper in C'bus.

When you have places like the Thurman Cafe, the Red Door Tavern, Graffiti Burger, etc.. This place will pale in comparison. I rarely eat cheeseburgers but when I do I go all out with one of the amazing local joints.
