They're so cliquish, pretentious, stuck up, think they're to good. Any girl I've met in Columbus that's good looking fits that stereotype which is odd to me because I'm tall, muscular, decent looking and a good person. Any where else I've been in the south or San Diego they weren't like that and I didn't have any problems. This only applies to the white women, I've dated a black one and my current gf is African and they're nothing like that, and I'm white btw.

Yep, sure, the problem isn't you, it's everyone else.

That's what I'm saying- it is. You are fine. Just every woman in the midwest is stuck up. All of them. Trust me, it has nothing to do with your personality.

If you came in expecting people to be different and treated them differently, that could be a problem. I don't know why, but people from other regions seem to think Midwesterners are these weird, foreign people that you have to adjust all your expectations and attitudes with, and then they make posts like this complaining about how hard it is to make friends or meet women. Most Midwesterners are pretty decent, down to earth people who just want to be treated normally and with respect.

Not to mention that Columbus has a pretty large population of people who aren't from Columbus to begin with.

True. I don't get it. People come in from the coasts and expect to be treated like royalty for some reason. Like we care at all that you lived in California. You're not at home anymore, you're not gonna get special treatment. Try talking to people like a normal human being and you'll find that men and women from Ohio are perfectly nice people.

Just offhand, it sounds like you place a lot of stock in appearance (and skin color). Just a guess, but I'd wager most women aren't drawn to that. I think everyone wants to feel attractive and be respected- but more than a surface level attraction is generally desired.

I'm not sure what age group you're talking about, but some women have close-knit groups of friends. Go to the bathroom in a group kind of thing. I don't necessarily think that makes them pretentious or stuck up.

I'm by no means completely enlightened, but I've found that when someone holds the impression that others think or act as if they are "too good" for them it generally means there is an underlying confidence/other issue.

There are definitely snobby people in this world, but I'm naive (or hopeful) enough to believe that it's usually a misunderstanding or a lack of familiarity that creates that impression. Most people are just that- people.

I've noticed that men who focus on a woman's character, plus meet women at volunteer activities rather than bars, tend to have fewer complaints about meeting "weird" and "snotty" Midwestern women.

Just an observation based on living in the Midwest all of my life.

There is a lot more guys there than girls, that's why they can be stuck up.

Not true. Columbus has something like 94 men for every 100 women. If you're having problems, it's not due to a lack of women.
