Population differences:
1950: 399,456
1960: 269,000
1970: 175,997
1980: 114,103
1990: 91,049
2000: 65,263
2010: 18,202
2012: 16,065

Both SF and Columbus have had higher growth rates so far this decade than they did last (especially SF)... wonder if Columbus will be able to surpass SF any time soon, after all.

Based on that trend, the answer seems to be yes... for the city only, of course. SF metro is MUCH larger than Columbus' and there's really not much of a similarity.

San Francisco is tiny in land area. This is why city population is useless other than defining a political boundary.

Columbus will likely pass SF by the next census, in great part because SF is a tiny, compact city that has almost no land left to develop.

In great part because SF is a great city and Cbus has a tiny part that is great. Unless you love chains and drive-thrus: then it's pure nirvana.

That literally has nothing to do with this thread, lol. I didn't ask which you like better or why. Try to keep it relevant.
