Need some quick advice-beloved dog might have cancer and we are new to the area. I keep hearing how wonderful Med Vet is. Is OSU Vet clinic better? Not as good? Who is the best in the area? Thanks

I'm sorry that your dog is having problems! I truly hope it's not cancer.

If it were my dog, I'd want to get an accurate diagnosis, first. OSU will be a little cheaper than Med Vet, and they have the equipment and experience to confirm cancer. With luck, it's something benign.

If it turned out to be cancer, I might then discuss treatment options and outcomes with both facilities. Both offer payment plans. If it's something rare, I'd go with Med Vet. If not, I'd go with OSU, just because of the cost. They have good people at both facilities. That's just me. I love my animals but I don't have deep pockets, so I'd take it one step at a time.

Default OSU & Med Vet

I'll be moving to Portland in Feb & have a poodle with heart & allergy problems. I noted in your post that OSU & Med Vet have payment plans. Are you talking about Care Credit or do they have their own financing? I spent $1,300 on my dog this month & am looking at steeper bills to come. Vet care in Southern Ca is really high. Cost of living period is rediculous here. I hope I can have better options in Portland. If I can afford the care I can maybe extend her flife another 2 or 3 years.
