Relocating 30 minutes around London
I have a job in London ohio. I need to relocate to at least a 30 minute drive to my new job. I am single with 2 children so I need affordable rent, low crime, affordable utilities and most importantly my children are mixed race (their fathers black) and I do not want them subject to any racial tension. Where we live now we havent had any problems and I dont want it to start. Any suggestions? My children love sports and make great grades so the schools are very important. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Hilliard. Very good schools, easy access to I-70 west to London. Nice, middle class community. Let me know if you'd like to look at homes in the area, I'm a Realtor. You might be pleasantly surprised at how affordable houses in Hilliard can be, especially when compared to renting a family-sized apartment.

Whatever you do, do not move to West Jefferson (very close to london) as it can be racist. London on the other hand it more multi-cultural and Grove City, Hilliard and Plain City are good options, (the first two are larger suburbs)

London has quite a few black families and mixed race families. I spent a lot of time there and never felt uncomfortable. West Jefferson on the other hand should be avoided as someone else said. There are a lot of racists there. If you move to the western edge of Columbus, you can get to London in 30 minutes.

I have lived near West Jefferson my entire life, have family that lives there and know many people there and I can tell you that there would be quite a lot of racial tension for children in that school system, it is a very for lack of a better word "hickish" place
