Powell is a brand new area for the most part. The building standards, to me, seem cheaper than Westerville or Dublin. But, again, it depends which subdivision you look at. I also despise Sawmill Parkway, which curves and curves and has NO streetlights at night. Very congested and unsafe. Powell just doesn't seem very well planned.
We chose Powell (Franklin side) because it was so new. Being a native Southerner, it kind of reminded me of what I came from. Seriuosly, we found that for a transplant family like ourselves that Powell was just a better fit. There are many other newcomers there and so we all have something in common!

I should point out that a lot of what people call "Powell" is actually Liberty Township, which has its own seperate government and zoning but provides a lot of services like the fire department and parks for the area.

Check out Powell closer to Dublin Rd. (e.g., between Dublin Rd and Sawmill) We used to live in Shawnee Hills (disclosure, I have a house for sale there)--which is Powell address, but Dublin Schools. Small restaurants near by, 10 minutes to Avery Rd/Perimeter (groceries, new hospital referred to above) and 10 minutes to quaint dt powell. We did more in Powell (love the giant eagle and tria's greek restaurant) than Dublin. lots of gyms nearby (our gym in powell). We really liked it there--as we could go fairly easily to most places. Traffic can be a pain, but it seems much better than Westerville's.

Default also moving to Polaris area

Possibly moving from NJ to the area for husbands job. This includes 4 kids ages 8,6,6,3. Any suggestions for nice areas ready for 4 very sports active kids and parents who like to have fun. Currently live on cul de sac with lots of kids on street and plenty of young adults to interact with
