Hello, I am considering a move to Groveport and see some horrible reviews for glendening elementary. My daughter is starting kindergarten this year and we will live there for up to 2 years and then relocate again. My question is how bad are the schools really and what are your thoughts on K and 1st grade there? Thanks!

I would recommend avoiding Groveport Schools if at all possible. If you need to live in that area, Canal Winchester City Schools and Hamilton Local School District (Obetz area) would be better choices.

I work as a substitute teacher. I don't sub in Groveport. However, I have heard from other substitute teachers that Groveport is a tough school district. I agree with the above poster about living in Canal Winchester. Pickerington also has excellent schools!

Does canal winchester offer open enrollment? If so, how does that work? Its looking like groveport will be the place to live but I do want to avoid those schools.

I don't believe Canal does open enrollment. I think Reynoldsburg does. I don't know much about Reynoldsburg schools, but I do know they do much better on the state report cards than Groveport-Madison schools. That might be a viable option for you.
