So, my wife and I are looking at a home on Parlin Dr. in Grove City and we have a few questions from people familiar with the area. While the house itself is very well kept and nice looking, and even neighboring houses look to be in decent condition, we noticed on the drive to the house that there are a lot of lower income looking apartments and duplexes near broadway. What is crime like in this area? Online searches of crime statistic analysis sites have rendered conflicting results and it seems that the perception of locals to Grove City tend to disagree with these statistics. What are your opinions of this street in particular as well as the Independence part of Grove City?

While my wife and I do not have any kids, we are still considering the school districts and neighborhood for resale value in the future as this will be our first home.

Like most areas anywhere there are good and bad areas of GC. GC borders on some bad areas to the west of the city.

Look into Pickerington, much nicer, better schools etc.

Grove City is fine for the most part crime wise, but the school district as a whole isn't very good. There are some decent schools within the district though. Hilliard has much better schools, is in the same price range as Grove City, and generally has a better chance of being a good resale investment in my opinion. Canal Winchester, Pickerington, Gahanna, and Westerville could be options too (I am assuming you are looking at homes under $150k, but please correct me if I'm wrong). You can also buy into the Dublin, Worthington, or Olentangy districts at that price point, but you won't get much home for your money.
