Hi everyone,

I was wondering how many people in the Columbus area is driving around with 5% tint all around on their cars? I recently just got my windows tinted and I have 15% on front and 5% on back, and unless the tint installers put the wrong tint on, my 15% is relatively light, even with black interior.

Now winter is coming, so I know the windows will have to be up, and this car is a summer car. I will be putting the car up for the winter, but I want to take advantage of the few weeks we have of semi-good weather before the dreaded Columbus winter. I've been thinking of going back to get 5% all around except the windshield. I know most cops told me, as long as they can see through the windshield and from the sides, your cool. But my 15% looks like 30% and I really don't like that, so I'm thinking 5% would do it, and Ill keep the heat on blast and Sunroof wide open to help make it "lighter" until I'm able to roll the windows down.

I know most of the time, most cops (at least on the south end of town) don't really bother people with tints. Unless, your already doing something against the law (speeding, swerving etc)

So I was wondering how many of you guys in the Columbus area is rolling with 5% tint all around? and what's y'all guys take.

Thanks,

Shi.

Look up Ohio tint laws.

Must allow more than 50% of light in for front windows.

Any amount on back and rear windows can be used.

Windshield only top 5% can be tinted any amount.

Also you need to get tinting done from a certified shop. They will place a sticker between the glass and tint certifying what tint is there in case you get pulled over. If they mess up and you break the law, you can go back and sue them.

I've got 11% all around, been pulled over once in 2+ years by a columbus cop on 71 North.

I think you may have more trouble if you're in high drug/crime areas. Roll your windows down when you see cops.
