Oh, I also wanted to add that Plain City is a growing community and although we do have many old, lets call them "born'raised" here, with the addition of 3-4 subdivisions, there are plenty of newcomers, and the mayor herself is a transplant.

We live in Hawk's Nest (Dublin) and just put our house on the market. We are going to move to Ballentrae. It's beautiful with the fountains and the pool in the summer and the Bunny hill for sleding in the winter. Plus, it's close to everything! The Hillard schools are just as good as Dublin. In fact, one of their high schools was rated much higher than any of Dublin's. But, some Dublin people think it's the only place to live . Even if the other has better location, better houses (for sure), better amenities, and nicer/smarter people. However, there are a lot of houses for sale for two reasons: one is some people spent more than they could afford, and the other is Ballentrae had a lot of transfer people from out of state and they are on the move again. Great for us looking to buy a house! Good Luck!

Are there any main intersections to avoid if commuting from Powell to downtown Columbus.? My wife would prefer to keep the commute to 30-35 minutes or less. Is rush hour from 7:30 to 8:00 and 5:00 to 5:30 or is there really no bad rush hour traffic?

Powell is a big area so we are just trying to get a good gauge of our boundaries to keep the commute reasonable. I thought I heard that 23 is worse than 315 for commuting and traffic.

kilgresak,

Stay closer to Route 315, or Sawmill Parkway, or Riverside Dr. These 3 are better than Rt 23, although Sawmill Parkway require a little trick to get you moving faster than the rest of the pack.

What about New Albany? I noticed that the homes are amazing but very close together. I heard that the schools are great too. Any thoughts?

I have always heard good things about New Albany just farther east then I want to be and some people describe the neighborhood/area as a little different/unique. I forget how they described it but I guess it is noticeable once you visit. Lots of $$ in the area from what I have been told.

Much of New Albany has a unique look about it. Lot's of all brick homes, and from what I understand the bricks mandated are a bit larger than the standard brick trim you see on homes. Also many developments require real wood windows, the architecture looks like it is out of the 19th century.

Default Move to Dublin,Powell, Hilliard

I would think you may want to consider Upper Arlington, Worthington and New Albany areas, also.

Just bought a house in Dublin. Moving soon. Is time warner the only choice for cable in the area? How is their service?
