Relocation-dublin, hilliard, powell?? Help!
Our family may be relocating from west of Cleveland at the end of this school year. We have 3 kids. Our youngest will be in 6th grade and our older two will be a junior and sophomore.
We are having a difficult time deciding where to move. We've heard both good and bad about Dublin. We don't know much about Hilliard or Powell. Schools are our biggest concern because we have two in high school. They both play sports and would intend on continuing. We don't know what their chances would be as far as making their respective teams (football and volleyball). Any input on curriculum, sports, and values would be greatly appreciated.

As a home inspector and instructor in central ohio, those areas are all nice places to live and have children attend the schools. The sports programs are all really good and competitive in Ohio.
Good luck with your move and welcome to central ohio.

wow, hilliard must have grown a lot. When i graduated there was one high school, and a little over 300 people in my graduating class. 1977, I married and moved to dallas in 1984 and haven't been back. It was a quiet little town back then. Its just hard to imagine it as big as it sounds now.

Dublin is fairly transient IMO. There are a lot of people coming and going that I personally am aware of. On the flip side, because it is, there tends to be a lot of welcoming in the area because of it. Here we are a year after my last post, and still in love with the place!

I would have to agree with previous posts that New Albany is somewhere you may want to look into. We lived there for three years and we had a very close knit community. Although the lots are small and the houses are closer together, the schools are always top rated and the homes are also fairly new. Check out the Windsor Subdivision. It is not in the country club part of New Albany, but it is walking distance to the schools and priced competitively with other suburban areas. Send me a DM if you want more info.

Follow this link to research all of the school districts that interest you. I personally like Powell and Dublin, however they are all nice communities.

We are looking at moving to Dublin this summer with 3 kids under 8. My girls 8 & 6 play tennis and are involved in gymnastics. My boy only 3 now will be be playing hockey..(a must we're from Canada). Are there good programs in each of these sports there?

In fact, one of their high schools was rated much higher than any of Dublin's. But, some Dublin people think it's the only place to live . Even if the other has better location, better houses (for sure), better amenities, and nicer/smarter people. However, there are a lot of houses for sale for two reasons: one is some people spent more than they could afford, and the other is Ballentrae had a lot of transfer people from out of state and they are on the move again. Great for us looking to buy a house! Good Luck!

I don't think that was accurate, nor do I believe they will respond to your request. They have been off the board for over a year now, and oddly they seemed to have had a different direction in mind (Utah), though posting what you referenced:
