Besides the Ohio State Buckeyes Football and all that college town stuff, what's living in Columbus really like?

It will depend on what you are looking for from a place to live.

Pros: Beautiful Neighborhoods...lots of infill development going on in the Urban Core as people continue to move into and near downtown...fairly good job market...low cost of living...for the most part nice friendly people...good location as its a short drive/flight from many good places to visit...doesn't suffer from extreme weather events like Hurricanes/Major blizzards/floods/drought...has a fairly good restaurant scene...good shopping...nice parks throughout the metro...outstanding zoo...fairly good museums...very LGBT friendly...lots of great festivals in Summer months.

Cons: Very little mass transit...busses run, but stop in the evening...must have a car or you'll be severely limited in what you can access..not bike friendly at all...not a great music scene...gray for the majority of the time from Nov through Mar and into April...desireable areas are getting expensive...Outside of the Blue Jackets, no other real Pro Sports (Soccer doesn't count as it's a boring game)...Us Buckeye fans can be a little overwhelming to Non Buckeye fans, as we are a very passionate alumni/fanbase.

There is a LOT more to Columbus than just the Buckeyes. Don't get me wrong, Ohio State fans are very passionate, and Saturdays in the fall are a lot of fun if you can learn to embrace that sort of thing, but there's a reason a lot of financial publications praise Columbus. It's a very versatile city - certainly much more than it gets credit for being.
