Hi all, I may be relocating to Chillicothe for my job in a month. Any info on good/bad areas around there or nearby towns to look for housing? Any extended stays in the area? Any info you can give is appreciated!

Chillicothe isn't too bad. There are some seedy areas near the railroad tracks, but nothing too much to worry about. I think that Circleville might have a better school district and is only about 15 minutes away.

Hi, it's just me, so won't need to worry about schools fortunately. Really, the most important things I am looking at is safe for a single female, and clean/affordable housing within a 20 min. drive or so to Chillicothe. I thought Columbus might work out, but looks like I will for sure be moving to Chillicothe area now.

In that case, just try to live away from the paper factory. The area near the paper factory is the seediest and also has some unpleasant smells that get dissipated not too far away.

I grew up in Chillicothe, so I reckon I can help you out.

Are you buying, renting, or going for an apartment?

I worked for the railroad and yes those areas are a little rough.
Do you prefer a slower pace country setting or more of a socialise night life atmosphere ? Route 50 just outside Chillicothe going toward Hillsboro looks like a nice up and coming area or south on Route 23 in the Waverly area.
