Hi all, I'm a 23-year-old female, young professional/college graduate relocating to Columbus for work.

I am trying to find affordable apartments in a nice-ish area, preferably close to downtown (I will be working in Grandview Heights). I really prefer a more urban, walkable neighborhood. Safe to run/bike,walk to a coffee shop, etc. Victorian Village/Short North/German Village are all out of my price range, unfortunately.

I did, however, come across the Belmont Apartments. Seemed like a good area with a lot of charm. Spoke to the landlord, who said they were in what's called the "Discovery District." I understand the need to put a positive spin on your property (he said the worst crime in that area is the occasional car entry), so I wanted to reach out and make sure this would be a positive move for a young woman.

Any thoughts? Any other apartments in the $400-$650 range you think would be suitable? I am originally from the Dayton area, went to school up north in Bowling Green and started my first job in Northwestern Ohio before I landed this opportunity. So, any tips or advice you have would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, I am a female student, also looking for affordable apartment near downtown area of Columbus. I know your post was from 2014, but I wonder did you finally rent Belmont apartment or did you choose any other place. If you have any recommendation of affordable apartments, could you please tell me? Thanks a lot Ma'am
