I have health issues and I receive section 8. My lease will not be up until late spring 2015. I want to move to Texas because I believe I have more health advantages there. I think my landlord would would release me from my lease. However, I need a statement from one of my specialists stating I would do better in Texas....ugh! I've been shoot down once by my primary.

You do not need a statement saying you would do better in Texas. Your Housing Authority is putting up an unnecessary barrier probably because they don't want to pay for you to live in Texas, which is likely more expensive. Nonetheless, they have to pay for you to go to Texas if that's what you want.

Advise your housing authority of where you are going in Texas. If they give you a hard time about it, get legal aid involved.
