I am not sure if I am the only one that has noticed this but people in Columbus seem very unfriendly and cold. If you try to be nice they act like you want something.

No, I can't say I've ever noticed that. In fact, quite the opposite in my experience. People in the Midwest have generally been much more friendly than those I've encountered elsewhere in the US and various countries around the world.

I'm from Cinti and moved to Columbus back in the early 90's and noticed the same thing. Columbus people are different. Cincinnatians, for being in the Midwest, have more southern charm and hospitality going for them. Not sure what it is about the Columbus folks.

Wait, so I heard that Cleveland and Cincinnati people are nice, but Columbus people aren't? Weird.

The people in Columbus are no different than anywhere else. It's really strange to believe that people suddenly become very different at an arbitrary city boundary. People in Columbus are from all over Ohio, the US and the world. Stop judging everyone and maybe be a little nicer yourself.

I guess the people are nicer than the people in DC and Baltimore so I guess that is a positive.

Just say "go bucks" and it will instantly put a smile on 99% of the people who live in Cbus, especially since they are this years national
football champions.

I moved here about 1.5 years ago and I find the people in Columbus to be very nice. Horrible drivers, yes, but unfriendly and cold? No way, I've had the opposite experience.

The only place I've ever lived or visited that I thought people were mean and nasty and cold like you say is New York City...Columbus is the friendliest place I've ever been...even more so than Cincinnati which was very parochial and not welcoming to new comers.
