I will be driving up to Columbus from Southeastern, KY for a concert at Newport Music Hall (Ace Frehley) February 1st and could use some help. I haven't been through Ohio in a few years, the last time was a trip to Cleveland, so other than a map and a concert ticket I'm clueless!

Newport Music Hall is located in the University District on High St. THe university district is the retail strip that extends for about 15 blocks, it is east of the Ohio State University, and north of downtown. The university has some stores, restaurants at the South campus Gateway, and other student oriented things. Just south of the University District is a great place to go after the show, the Short North.
