I moved to Reynoldsburg from Cleveland 5 months ago on a short lease, and I'm strongly considering moving to the Discovery District. I've only ever lived in suburbs and small college towns, so this would be something different. Is there anything I should know about downtown living in Columbus specifically, as well as this area? (right next to topiary park). Like traffic during hours where it's not rush hour/big events, parking, etc. This complex told me there's garage parking (but I don't want to pay for that), as well as lot space for 50% of residents, and street parking for the rest. What is it like in the winter? something I haven't thought about till recently is possible snowfall making street parking a nightmare, but coming from Cleveland, I may be worrying too much about that... I'm hoping to make a decision by Tuesday

Other areas I've considered are Clintonville and Gahanna, but I haven't found much. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom under 700

That area is really nice. I lived there for a couple years after grad school. Most of the time there is plentiful on-street parking and little traffic. Even during big events there isn't much extra activity there because it is a decent distance away from the riverfront area.

There are great amenities within walking distance just across I-71 along Parsons in OTE (black creek bistro, corner store beer and wine, upper cup coffee, near east coop market, old familiar barber shop, etc), and some new things popping up along Grant now that I wish were there when I lived downtown (hills market, grass skirt, new brioso location, roosevelt coffee house, dominos, lomonicos, etc).

The Topiary Park is great, and proximity to the Art Museum (free on sundays!) and Main Library can't be beat.

Good luck with your decision!
