Help in finding One Story Homes on a lake in Columbus Area
I don't even know where to begin. I want help in finding a one story home preferably on a lake in a great neighborhood in Columbus area.
I was reading some post that Buckeye Lake, Choktow Lake and Big Lake are nice places to live.
My husband I live in Arizona and we want to move to Columbus in the next year or so.
We are in our 50's so schools are not a concern for us. I just want a beautiful area with lots of tree's and for some reason I feel like there should be a lake in the picture.
Can someone tell me how to go about finding a safe beautiful area and home? Nothing larger then 2000 sq ft. Even 1800 sq ft would be great 2 bedroom, den and at least 2 baths. I love lots of windows and a big kitchen. Would prefer new construction but not opposed to a resale if it is newer.
I really do appreciate all of your time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are planning a trip to Columbus in April or May of this year so any area anyone can suggest we will visit when we are there.
Thanks so much.

I would suggest Powell, near the Columbus Zoo or Dublin.
The area has low crime, is close to water, not a lake but a river.

lake front home
We own a lakefront home in Urbana, Ohio that we are planning to sell this year. Our house sits 30 feet from the water. We have our own dock with a pontoon boat. The lake is spring fed and crystal clear. Urbana is a quaint little city of 12,000 and is approx. 45 minutes from Columbus. Master bedroom, laundry room etc. are on the main floor.

Buckeye Lake is in Licking county. To get a home on the lake with all of what you want you would need to buy not rent.prices can vary from 200-1million plus. We used to have a place there. The town to me takes on a younger party crowd as it hosts quite a few bars for the boaters to frequent. No shopping in town you would need to go to Newark. As far as Choctaw Lake more of a private gated type community. Used ot be super super nice I hear it is on the way back. I believe it is in Madison county. Also check out Madison Lake area, Indian Lake, and the Sunbury ohio area's.

Some of the homes on Choctaw are nice, but I have never really been impressed with the lake. In addition, some people don't keep their homes maintained very well. I hear Indian Lake is really nice, but I haven't been there in forever.
