Yes, the Henderson/Bethel Road area would be a good place for a 24 year old single person, but didn't you say you had children? You have to think about the schools. Columbus Public Schools aren't where you want to send your kids.
Actually the columbus city schools that cater to the henderson/clintonville/beechwold/n.high st/and Bethel areas are on par with schools in the suburbs. Centennial High School has decent test scores and programs.

Telling someone to avoid certain columbus neighborhoods because of stats for the columbus schools as a district ignores the fact that the district is very large and is made up of many neighborhoods.

Some of these neighborhoods have very drastic economic and social statistics than others. Thus their "local city schools" perform very well or very poorly.

If you take the time to research and learn about the good neighborhoods the rewards can be very good.

Neighborhoods like Clintonville have older, very nice and sometimes very expensive homes with character and tree lined streets and a sense of community and little commute time to work centers. Research before you listen to drastically vague labels and advice; you will be better in the end for it.
