you must've been drunk saying that Warren has more character than Columbus. I have family in Warren and go there every year, it's a hick-town, and most of the people from there travel to other cities to have fun. I currently live in Toledo for school, it's not that very impressive at all. It's a boring city, and I can't wait to get out. Toledo might as well be called Lil' Detroit.
What I hate about Columbus is the citizens that like to bash the city because they can't find something to do. Columbus actually have alot to offer, depending on what the person depends. Columbus is 212 sq miles compared to Cleveland's 82 sq miles and Cincinnati's 80 sq miles. There's always something to do, people just don't get out.

Life is what you make it. Any place in the world can either be dull or exciting, depending on what YOU put into it.
I've lived in cities across the country, and each one has something unique to offer. I had great friends in Portland, Seattle, Columbus, and now Austin. As a newbie to any city, there are things one doesn't like, but focusing on those negatives just makes for a negative person.
I realize this is a 'Worst things about Columbus' thread, but I just got tired of your whining.

The only unique things to experience or neighborhoods to live in Columbus are within a five mile radius of the Covention center. Outside of that radius, I agree with the bland description...and it only gets worse the further out you go.

If Columbus is such a bland place, why is it growing so much? Apparently there is something about the area that people like.

because it is a safe place.
The last time I checked, safe didn't equal character or excitement in a city.

columbus isnt growing as fast as it was... and in my opinion the people that have only lived in columbus dont know any better. please tell me 10 things that columbus has besides OSU that makes it exciting or differant from other cities. and sorry but 5 miles around the convention center is really stretching it for "non-bland" excitement. considering you are in cornfields if you drive 7 miles E.,W., or S. from downtown. its still a small metro compared to cleveland or cinci...just like cleve and cinci are small compared to ny,chicago or la.

I was trying to include German Village and Grandview but you might be right... 3 miles it is.
1)Comfest
2)Gallery Hop
3)Doo Dah Parade
4)Blue Jackets (arena district)
5) Ooh ooh I thought of one away from my radius. The Memorial Tournament. (I hate golf)
ok... I give up.

Columbus isn't growing as fast as it was ... maybe because of the economy? No city in the US right now is "growing as fast as it was".
