Agree, that is why I moved to South Florida.
How can people even claim it gets hot in Columbus with a straight face? I lived there for 20 years and it never got hot

I have to agree with you. I was in South Carolina during the summer back in 05. 100+ degree days with what felt like 100% humidity were normal. On the "hot" side of the scale, we get it relatively easy. It's the winters here that border on the ridiculous side.

I have to disagree about the winters also - I lived in Chicago for a couple years and their winters are much worse. We had a lot more snow, and much, much colder days.
Columbus weather is mild in all respects - although I agree, it could be a lot warmer during the winter

I'll give you that, but was the city's response to the snow as "meh" as it is here? Also, most people hate winters here because it, and the early parts of spring are almost impossible to tell apart.

Great, that's your personal preference. That doesn't make it superior to anyone else's preferences.
By the way, I guess it's easier to take a hurricane when you know taxpayers in other states are going to pick up the tab.

That's a subjective statement if I've ever seen one.

No, Columbus is, by far, the worst I have ever seen in regards to snow removal.
Chicago and the suburbs are incredibly efficient about the snow - I beleive it has to do with the significant snow that they get.

Having spent our first winter here (so I can't judge others) we were incredibly surprised on how the city seems ot shut down and hybernate during the winter.
yes, Chicago is colder, but as mentioned above, it's no big deal. The city keeps going and the partying moves indoors.

Yeah, snow shuts this place DOWN. Here in the campus area, it's not as bad, but there are definitely less people willing to head out for a good time.

I don't care about the snow, but never seeing the sun for months on end is unbearable.

I've heard the expression; "If there is snow, I don't go" for work. Which is rediculous since they expect to get paid for the day. 1/2 inch of snow and people won't drive in it. WTF?
