Ugh. Columbus has the nastiest sprawl I've seen of any town. That place is just a dump all around.

Right on!

I would have to say it did take me about 30 mins. to get into work today, but you're right—normally that wouldn't happen.

Snow = extenuating circumstances

LMAO at this thread title, even though I don't hate Columbus. To me, it's just kinda ... there.

But, if I ever meet the brain trust that designed the southbound I-71 merge with I-70, I will gladly give him/her a little hate.

salt distribution in preparation for snow, more plows, and more salt distribution in reaction to snow. columbus seems to salt the interstate, the main roads and hopes drivers and sunlight will melt the rest away. after my first winter in columbus, i was not impressed that a central ohio city could be so lazy about snow removal and road clearing.

For some reason Columbus thinks it is a tropical area or something and is always in shock mode when it comes to snow, nobody knows how to drive in it, they don't plow or salt the roads. We lived there for 10 years and it was always the same EVERY time it snowed.

The couple of things I hate about living here in Columbus are

1. OSU football. They put out a good team, but as others have said above it borders on insanity. Multiple times we are the butt of jokes on ESPN and other networks due to the fans flipping cars and burning couches along campus and the off campus housing...and you don't even know if they won or lost, they do it win or lose.

2. The "Ohio/Columbus ties" to EVERY big breaking nationwide news story that hits, like it is supposed to make us feel uber important or something that since there was another school shooting, we are going to send a reporter and crew out to cover the "Ohio connection" which is usually something as asinine as the guy who put in the manhole cover on the corner where the kid stood before he went into the school shooting was from Dayton or some ****.

In Toledo it snows maybe 40" compared to Columbus's 30", but the snow removal in Toledo is far more vigorous. I can see uncleared snow out of my window right now, even though it hasn't snowed in a couple of days.
