Help finding a certain neighborhood in Upper Arlington
We need help finding a particular neighborhood in what I think is Upper Arlington. We were there many years ago and stumbled upon an area of homes and stores that were all "Tudor-Style". It seemed the theme of the store architecture was the same and ran through the whole neighborhood. We've been unable to find it again. Does anybody have any idea what are I'm referring to?? Help would be appreciated.

I moved the thread to the Columbus subforum, since Upper Arlington is part of Columbus metro area.
Perhaps some of these local posters could help you out.

It sounds like "Old Arlington" which is near Scioto Country Club. The stores could be the stores on Arlington Avenue at Mallway - right by Jones Middle School. There are also some Tudor style businesses on 5th at Cambridge, but I think that may technically be Grandview.

look in the neighborhood with Burbank school. Its the Henderson, Lane, Reed, Riverside block area. There is also Tudor style houses in all of Old Arlington, check along east of the golf course.

There is a ton of Tudor-style architecture (on houses, apartments, commercial buildings and even churches) in the Old Arlington/Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff area—sometimes referred to as the "Tri-Village."
The Arlington portion of this area has the grandest houses, and they are beautiful! This is the area south of Lane, north of 5th, east of Rte. 33 and the Scioto golf course, and west of North Star (west of Northwest Blvd, if you really want to be technical).
At one time, this was Upper Arlington. Only after WWII did UA expand north of Lane and encompass its present size.
As another poster alluded to, there's a tiny commercial cluster in the heart of Old Arlington, along Arlington Ave. in front of Jones Middle School (aka, the original Arlington high school). It's very small compared to modern strip centers, but the feel of it is classic, Old World and very quaint—thanks to that good ol' Tudor architecture
They don't build 'em like that anymore. Pity...

Thanks for all of your responses! We haven't been over that way in awhile (Live near Bellefontaine), however, I can't wait to go exploring when we do get over there. You're right, the homes are grande and it's a shame there aren't more like those

Help finding a certain neighborhood in Upper Arlington
Arlington grandest (oldest) houses are in the area south of Lane, north of 5th, east of Rte. 33 and the Scioto golf course. Most likely as others have said, either near Jones (Arlington Avenue) or the area around 5th Avenue.
