Moving To Columbus (Franklin, Grandview: homes, place to live, most dangerous)

I plan on moving to columbus and I have applied for the new city view homes that are in frankliton. I don't know know much about the area but I would like to know is it a safe and descent place to live the street that i might live on is avondale so please give me some advice or suggestions.

Franklinton is trying to become something respectable,and, in fact, there are homeowners in that area that I'm sure are decent people...but that area is full of crack and prostitution...not the most dangerous of urban columbus areas, but, again, and I am not exaggerating or being dramatic--it is FULL of crack, poverty and hookers...think twice.....also the police are taking payoffs and looking the other way in at least one BIG drug dealing situation going on in that area that you're considering....

although greytercel tends to be extremely anti-Columbus... he hit this nail right on the head... you might want to look at somewhere else such as Grandview, Short North or somewhere downtown

To all who left messages thank you after viewing the area for myself I can tell that its not a good evironment for kids so everybody saved me from leaving in the hood thanks again.
