Are there any municipal ice rinks in Greater Columbus, as there are in Greater Cleveland (Brooklyn, Mentor, Euclid, and Shaker Hts., come quickly to mind)? This obviously is an expensive proposition not affordable by many municipalities and several of these are legacy facilities that likely wouldn't be considered today.

E.g., Mentor with a relatively large tax base, has a municipal ice rink, but voters in recent decades have refused to fund a municipal swimming center.

Yikes. Jackets have given up 10 goals in their 2 straight losses. Ugh.

2 losses after 16 wins still is a fantastic percentage. Just have to regroup a bit and understand that the streak was great, but now it's back to real life.

The much earlier comment that the Crew is more popular than the Jackets is way off. At worst, they are equal in popularity. The Crew has a solid fanbase, but I can't buy for a minute that their popularity exceeds the CBJ.
As far as a statewide fanbase, the Jackets have a big impediment to overcome there. The NHL blocks Fox Sports Ohio from broadcasting Jackets games not only in Lucas County (Toledo proper), but a huge chunk of eastern Ohio that the Penguins refuse to split with the Jackets even though the Penguins' cable channel isn't on most systems out that way. Canton and New Philly among many other areas can't see the games on a nightly basis, although Cleveland and Akron and even the entire Lake Erie shoreline can. The Jackets have been working to change that, and I hope it happens.

Blue Jackets just clinched a spot in the playoffs for the third season in a row.

Jackets should really try to get that 1st wild card. Definitely want to avoid Tampa in the first round if you can.

That could happen if the Blue Jackets won tonight and the Hurricanes lose to the Flyers. The Jackets have a one game lead in regulation/overtime wins so even if the Jackets win and the Hurricanes lose in overtime which would make them tied in points the Blue Jackets would get the #1 wild card spot.

Luckily the Jackets play the Ottawa Senators, the NHL’s dumpster fire and I will be doing the unthinkable - cheering for the Flyers.

Well, nice while it lasted. Good work getting into the playoffs, but this should be a 4 game series. No shame in that either against the Lightning.

Have a feeling the CBJ get one win in the series, but yeah, Tampa is a juggernaut. Too bad, because the Jackets went all-in at the trade deadline.

wow what a game tonight! Happy to be wrong already. First period was a disaster but man that was a different team the rest of the game. Thoroughly entertaining.
