Ever been to southern Ohio?
We have switch back hills in the Appalachian mountain chain if you like grueling hiking.
They call my area the "Little Smokies" Shawnee State Forest,Raven Rock in West Portsmouth Oh.
you need permission in advance from the ODNR to hike, Buzzards Roost in Lynx then there is the Wayne National Forest near Ironton.The Ohio River countless lakes and streams the longest creek in the world at Rio Grande the Little Racoon.You can take overnight canoe trips or just rent them for the day we always stopped at the original farm restaurant of Bob Evans and ate breakfast first.
Lake Erie is huge you can't even see Canada and never get caught out in the boat in weather it's scary.
I love my four seasons and would not move from here regardless of our sad condition but we are trying hard to correct things and make life better in Scioto county Ohio.
