Hello! My husband, toddler, and I are relocating to Columbus for work next year. We are considering the three aforementioned cities (Grandview, Worthington, and Dublin/Jerome Village). Thoughts for a young family in search of vibrant and walkable amenities? If recommended any of these cities, any advice on specific areas/neighborhoods to look at?

Priorities:
Decent schools (We will likely go parochial but still a priority)
Newer home or townhome up to $650k.
Walkable amenities (coffeeshops, restaurants, groceries)
Other young families and a community-feel
Well-used community resources (rec center, parks, library)
My husband works in Grandview.

We are looking to make this our home so would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

I would focus on Grandview first, just for the sole fact that it checks most of those items off your list. The Grandview Yard development has plenty of new homes and townhomes (not sure of its school zone though). The older parts of Grandview Heights will have places that may be in your budget but they may be smaller and may or may not need updating.

Worthington would be my next rec based on what you are looking for. Old Worthington would be the best place to look but you will have to find something with updates or a tear down. The latter may be too expensive for your budget though.

Have you thought about Clintonville or Old Beechwold? While Columbus Public Schools, Clintonville's primary elementary is one of the top in the urban district and Bishop Watterson HS is close. It would be the primary catholic high school for Clintonville and Worthington. Clintonville and Beechwold homes are older, but demand usually keeps them pretty well updated.

I would cross off Dublin unless you are looking around Bridge Park. Most of Dublin is tract suburban sprawl that isn't walkable in the same sense as Grandview, Old Worthington or Clintonville.

Dublin and Grandview both have outstanding school districts, and Worthington is not far behind. Dublin is the largest of the three with three high schools, Worthington is next, with two high schools, while Grandview is very small (I think the high school has under 400 students). Many kids in Grandview are able to walk or ride their bike to school.

The homes in Grandview mostly date to the early 1900's, so there are few new-builds there, unless you look in Grandview Yard, but you'd have to be comfortable living across the street from offices, hotels and large apartment buildings. Worthington is mostly older homes as well, although parts of the district that extend north of 270 and west of 315 may have some new builds near Kilbourne High School. Jerome Village is very new and still developing. Other new areas in Dublin as well.

Grandview is a great, walkable community. Grandview Avenue, and Fifth Avenue have a ton of restaurants, coffeeshops, and other stores. Worthington is somewhat walkable, particularly near Olde Worthington, which has a lot of commercial offerings. Jerome Village won't have commercial near it, but Dublin does have Bridge Park, though not many residential areas are within walking distance to it.

All three areas have plenty of young families and a community fee because of the schools and amenities, though Grandview is probably the tightest because of its size. There are good rec opportunities in all three, but Dublin is by far the best with the community center, pools, etc.

With your husband working in Grandview, obviously Grandview is the most convenient spot. Worthington and Dublin wouldn't be terrible commutes, but not the greatest either. 315 and/or 270 can be busy.

You mentioned parochial schools - St. Brigid in Dublin is very good...newer school and on the large side. St. Michael in Worthington is a little older and medium sized. Trinity in Grandview is older and small.

You might think about expanding your search to Upper Arlington and Bexley as well if you're looking for walkable, great communities. New Albany is also very nice.
