Need suggestions on areas to live with good schools (diverse) (Gahanna: preschool, places to live)

Hello,

I am a single mother about to move to the columbus ohio area. I have visted three times and seem to like it better each time I tour different areas. My significant other lives there and that is one of the main reasons for my move. I have a 4 year old son and we are looking for places to live. We are a fairly young couple looking for some diversity, but also want to live in an area that is safe and has good schools. He currently lives in Franklin county, but we would like to relocate to somewhere in the surrounding area. I will be working in Worthington and I coming from an urban community, so I need any suggestion on what areas are good for young african american professionals with children. Plus any suggestions on good preschools. My son will be attending preschool this year and I am also looking for places to meet other people with children since I will be new to the area and will not know anyone except my partner. Scary!!!

Hi I see no one has responded to your thread. I just moved to Gahanna from AZ. I really like it here. We are a mixed race family and we fit right in. I'm not sure if Gahanna would be a long commute to your work area. Maybe someone who has lived here for a while could comment on that. The schools are great! I have one child in high school and one in middle school. So far everyone here is very friendly. We are close to so many things. We've only been here about one week and I'm very happy.
