Question Looking for a better apartment complex! Any help is appreciated!

My lease is up at Karl Village at the end of July. Newly married looking for a new place. My then fiance and I moved here because of the 'country kitchen' and the basement. However maintenance issues are a problem here with our unit at least and the more and more I research, I see we're not in a good area. I just read that the Brookville on shrock road is not a good place to go!

We have been to the site apartmentreviews.net and apartmentratings.com and no MATTER where we look theres always bad reviews! The one place I used to live had one review and it was great and recommended at 100 % but when I lived there a couple of years ago, someone was shot right next to my building.

Now I understand crime can happen ANYWHERE, ANYTIME..but I'm trying to avoid as much as possible.

Theres a townhome apartment I'm going to look at today with my husband called Kingswood Townhomes in Grove City. They look nice, good price and basement. I just want to be in a good area. Any advice would be great

Our budget is no more than 650 with a cat if possible.
I work in the Grandview Area and he works in Dublin. We've priced Dublin apartments and those are out

Thanks!

Sounds like we're looking for the same thing lemme know how they were and what type of area its in. I'm looking for a 2 BR townhouse w/ basement also. Someone had told me that the Karl/Morse area is not a very good area, do you agree?

I agree that it's not the best but I personally didn't have any problems with crime, you just have to watch where you go. Sometimes it made me nervous. Across the street from Karl Village is Sharon Green. That place is noisy, kids are always running around (don't get me wrong I love children and I can't wait to start a family) but they are soo loud and noisy and even at night!

A couple of months after moving in I met my neighbor and she told me her basement had been broken into when she wasn't home and they came up the stairs and got into her apartment and stole a bunch of stuff.

I feel like I'm always checking over my shoulder and I don't like that.

The biggest thing about my complex is the shower converter (or diverter whichever) stops working every few weeks it's really inconvienent as I'm not a tiny girl, my husband and I are both on the heavy side and the tubs just aren't big enough, i don't think they would be for a smaller person either as my mom made a comment on it as well. It's not considered an emergency so sometimes it'd take up to 2 days to fix it.

Our locks slipped a few times as well..took them maybe four times before they replaced them.

Where are you looking for a place at?

Well I have came down and viewed a few places in Reynoldsburg area and also Ravine Bluff in Dublin, I liked the RB but they have really bad reviews on the website I visited also they did not have the basement I wanted. I'm not sure what your rental cap is but Great North across the street had a finished basement with a bathroom w/ a shower in it, it was really nice but out of my price range. I'd prefer a TH w/ a basement and plenty of grassy areas because I do have 2 boys who like to be outside. I don't wanna be in a suburb per say but I don't want to be looking over my shoulder either nor deal with obnoxious kids whose parents don't watch them.
