Just moved into a German Village fixer upper (all I could afford)

I need cleaning and yard help but can't afford to hire someone weekly.

Where should I look?
Is there a student org that does single day work?
Anyone know someone who is looking for small jobs.

I was walking back from the short north and there was a guy about 20 something at a bus station. Sign said he needed money to get home. I offered him money if he would help me in my yard and he looked at me like I was crazy.

Same thing with the 'vet' at third and the on ramp to 1-70. Offered him lunch and work cleaning out the basement. I thought he was going to spit on me.

So I've tried the guys with signs saying they want to work and it was a bust.

They don't want to work... they want quick money to feed various addictions. These are not people who just so happened to have their homes foreclosed upon and are certainly not people you want to attract like stray dogs by offering them an opportunity to get into your house. Your intentions are wonderful, but they could get you into serious trouble.
